The personal SPA chair concept ought to help you relax a whole lot better after a particularly gruelling day at work, since it comes with an adjustable privacy dome that offers personal entertainment on a laser touchscreen display while your body is being massaged and kneaded in all the right spots. Otherwise known as Galatea, this SPA chair abounds with a whole lot of features including Internet connectivity, electronic books support, TV and audio playback among others, where you will be able to control those via voice commands. No idea on pricing, but you can bet your bottom dollar that this won’t be cheap!

Mexican artist Gilberto Esparza has come up with his latest piece known as Planta Nomada, or Nomadic Plant in plain English. This machine-plant hybrid will carry both plants and microorganisms from the polluted Lerma Santiago River in Mexico, where it will get to work by converting waterborne elements into electrical energy. Meant to be a multi-legged, autonomous robot that is powered by a microbial fuel cell, it will head towards water to suck it up through a tube and converting its contents into electricity whenever its microorganisms need some nourishment, now how about that! Hopefully the robot’s got some pretty solid legs to prevent itself from tumbling headlong into the river!

Looks like a whole lot of mathematics are involved here, including complex triangular facets to guide the beam to form the current time. Surely this concept will be one that sucks up a whole lot of battery power if it ever sees the light of day, don’t you think so?

While we scratched our heads about a rumored Palm acquisition by Lenovo, but the idea that HTC could snap Palm resonates much more with us, and would likely result in awesomeness. Palm’s problem is that the Palm Pre is good, but not great (anymore). It’s too slow, too small and although the Pre is cool, its desirability has fallen quickly because new competing hardware keeps coming practically every month couple of months - the next iPhone is due in June. Oh, and did we say that the Palm Pixi is not competitive in any market these days?

HTC on the other hand has great hardware designs (Nexus One…), but it is very far from being able to produce an operating system, and getting their hands on Palm’s Web OS and the brains behind it could be a game-changer for the company. HTC also commands an important share in the handset market, whether it is with its own brand or as a white-label manufacturer. One has to wonder if a Palm acquisition would change the way HTC deals with Android or Windows Mobile, but I don’t think that this would change radically in the short term, but who knows. This rumor makes a lot more sense than a Lenovo acquisition, and I hope that Palm ends up surviving, or being bought by a company like HTC that can truly leverage and perpetuate the work that Palm has done.

Check out the Teso device that most people will probably dismiss it as an iPad clone. This device is more than ready to ship, where it will share extremely close specifications with a netbook that when you strip off its tablet pretense and transfer it onto a netbook chassis, you won’t be able to tell the difference. We’re talking about an Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz processor, a 10.1″ capacitive touchscreen display at 1024 x 600 resolution, 1GB RAM, a 32GB SSD, GPS navigation support, 3G connectivity, a trio of USB ports and a VGA port, all running on the Windows 7 platform. Just like the iPad that it supposedly clones, this model lacks a camera as well.

Don’t act like you haven’t thought about it, every slate device is just begging for the perfect keyboard accessory that can also function as a hard case. Some industrious souls have gotten on the case of building just such a contraption for the iPad, titled it the LapDock, and given it no lesser a goal than to completely obviate the need for laptops. Shh, no need to ruin their halcyonic existence with talk of the added connectivity, functionality, and versatility of laptops, just let it slide. As to the current state of affairs, well, the LapDock looks like a nicely carved wooden case with room for your iPad and Apple Bluetooth keyboard and that’s about it. Not the highest of high-tech implementations, but it’s still at the, ahem, prototype stage. Go after the break to see if it catches your fancy.

If a source close to Australian MacWorld has any merit, we’ll finally be seeing updates to the laptop line — Pro and Air, allegedly — this Tuesday, April 13th. No word on what the new models would feature if true, but without an event all its own, the best we can expect is probably a spec boost. Best Buy seems to adding some fuel to the fire, first by showing a proverbial mark of death in its database last month, and now by making the 15-inch model unavailable on BestBuy.com. Undoubtedly the retailer’s waiting for a new shipment of potent portables, but the question remains, what’ll they run under the hood.

Add in that dual screen and you’re up to $4,343. On the completely opposite end of the spectrum, that X100e which we recently reviewed is available with a 1.6GHz AMD Turion Neo X2 Dual-Core CPU. We doubt that’ll do the sub-four hour battery life any good, but if power in a small package is what you’re after it’s definitely worth a click on the source link. As for that picture of the X100e with a floppy disk that really has nothing to do with the news, we just came across it on Lenovo’s blog and really liked it.
