Looking for a new laptop? While the super slim Dell Adamo might have been way out of your budget for a long time, with the latest price drop, you might be able to pick it up. We’re talking $999 for the Adamo Admire, which sports a 1.4GHz Core 2 Duo processor, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, 2GB of DDR2 RAM, 128GB SSD. If that’s too cheap for you, flash your credit card and pick up the Adamo Desire, which sports a 2.1GHz Core 2 Duo chip, 4GB of RAM, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, integrated mobile broadband and also a 256GB SSD drive, all for just $1799, which is a whole $500 that the price listed a few months back. Will this be your next laptop, or will it stay something that you just drool at everyday?

Nikon aims to make a big splash at the upcoming PMA event with at least four digital cameras being announced, with the P100 leading the way in terms of interest. Why so? The Nikon P100 is touted to be the first device from Nikon that comes with a back-illuminated sensor, which will grant it a much higher level of performance in low light conditions. Logically speaking, the P100 ought to oust the P90 ultrazoom while featuring a long-ranged 26x lens of its own. Apart from that, other rumored digital cameras include the S3000 and S8000, where the latter is touted to be the slimmest camera to date with a 10X lens. Last and certainly least would be a new entry-level compact digital camera – the L110 that won’t turn any heads. Ah well, we’ll just have to wait until PMA looms before getting more detailed information on the above mentioned.

If you were monitoring Apple’s stock throughout the coverage of the iPad announcement, you’ll probably have gotten a shock when you stock dipped upon the iPad’s announcement. Wasn’t it good enough? The good news is that the stock started picking up again, after the initial drop, and the best part is, it shot up rather sharply upon the announcement of its $499 price point. Considering that previous rumors indicated that the iPad would be priced at around $899-$999, the $499 price point is certainly a good deal, so it’s no surprise that the stock rose on that occasion. Did the iPad announcement help you out with your portfolio?

Now you’re going to want to take this with a huge grain of salt. We’re talking a grain of salt so big that you might not even be able to carry the damn thing. But supposedly, a helpful little mole sent these spy photos into Engadget revealing the coveted Apple Tablet, bolted to the table for what we can only imagine is security purposes, expected to be announced today at a special event.
I can’t help but hope these photos are fake. When I think Apple Tablet, I think revolutionary, complete hype-inducing revolution. A 10-inch iPhone replica isn’t my idea of game-changing. Especially if the ballpark figure of $1000 is anywhere close to the mark. Cut that price in half and we’ll talk. After the jump you’ll see a photo of the iPhone lying on top of the supposed tablet for size-comparison purposes.

Apple might think it’s going to change the world tomorrow with some sort of crazy tablet, but we’re here to tell you that the world has already changed. American humans will soon be able to buy a product called “Puppy Tweets,” a product actually designed, tested, and released by the Mattel corporation. First, you need a dog with a Twitter account. (Who doesn’t have one of those?) Then, you need to use $30 of your actual money to buy Puppy Tweets, a plastic sound-and-motion sensor that clips onto your dog’s collar and sends out several pre-written tweets that have extreme amounts of dignity, like “YAHOOOOOOO! Somedays you just gotta get your bark on.” Then you have to weep gently for the future of our society.

In case you ever doubted his feat, or you simply wanted to recreate for sport, iPhone hacker extraordinaire George “Geohot” Hotz has released the exploit code he devised for properly hacking the PS3. This should give any aspiring minglers full memory access, and while he’s only tested it with firmware version 2.4.2, he “imagine[s] it works on all current versions.” A guide might follow sometime in the future, he says, but if you’re really antsy to get your coding kicks, we wouldn’t wait up.

The Wii may not be the console of choice for most fighting game fans, but it is starting to earn a bit more respect with the release of Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom and, just as importantly Mad Catz’s new Arcade FightStick to go along with it. The best news, however, is that like Mad Catz’s fightsticks for other consoles, this one is moddable for those that prefer some arcade authentic parts, and it even packs a few features not found its Xbox 360 and PS3 counterparts. Most notably, that includes a toggle switch that will let the arcade stick control either the d-pad of the classic controller or the left or right analog stick, meaning you’ll also be able to use it with an array of Virtual Console titles. Look for this one to set you back $80.
