Seagate is one of the biggest names in the market when it comes to hard drives, and it looks like the company wants to get serious about SSD technology too. Seagate has announced its first line of 2.5-inch SSD (solid state drives), dubbed Pulsar. The drives will sport 3Gbps SATA speeds and will offer users read and write speeds of up to 240MB and 220MB. Pulsar SSDs should have a lifespan of about 5 years, and are designed to meet the demands of OEMs. The current sizes for Pulsar SSDs are 50GB, 100GB and 200GB. Pricing hasn’t been announced at the moment, but stay tuned.
