There’s just something about Sciphone‘s Android-based handset, the N21, that we can’t get enough of. This KIRF-tastic little dude has attitude in droves, to go with its clunky exterior. The 3-inch touchscreener boasts a 5 megapixel cam, WiFi, and an onscreen keyboard — not to mention what looks like a killer stylus experience. In the video (which is after the break), you can check out the many and varied features of this looker of a device.

We’re actually sort of surprised that this hasn’t happened earlier, but TiVo and Google announced a data-sharing partnership today that’ll give the Google TV team access to TiVo’s second-by-second viewing data — anonymized, of course. That means advertisers who buy their TV ads through Google will only have to pay for the ads that customers actually watch — a system the networks obviously aren’t so keen on, but which makes total sense given Google’s pay-per-impression online advertising model. Google’s already processing a billion remote clicks a day as part of a similar deal it’s had with Dish Network since April, so the new TiVo data should just help Mountain View inch its claws even deeper into our every day lives. Happy future.

We’ve seen Jailbroken iPhones that left SSH on with the default passwords get Rickrolled, and also “blackmailed”, though we’re fairly sure nobody really paid any money. Now it seems that a new virus, exploiting the same vulnerability, has surfaced in the Netherlands. It allows the hacker to remotely control and access the phone, making it a serious privacy concern, especially if you fiddle with online banking on your iPhone. You’d hate to wake up and see your bank account cleared out, wouldn’t you? At the time of writing, this variant of the virus is isolated in the Netherlands, but who knows where it will spread it. So if you’ve Jailbroken your iPhone, do remember to change the default password.

We first saw Ostendo’s crazy CRVD monitor at CES 2008 with Alienware branding, and then again at Macworld 2009 with an NEC label, but it looks like those were just flirtations: the monster 2880 x 900 quad-DLP display has been quietly on sale directly from the mothership since late August. Ostendo tell us most of the units sold have been for defense simulation and training, but there are apparently some gamers out there hardcore enough to stomach the $6,499 price tag — including the crown prince of Dubai, who’s purchased “multiple units.” We’re also told that multi-monitor CRVD applications are forthcoming, which sounds insane — and is even wilder on video. Check it after the break.

We’ve seen the pros effortlessly tapping away classic tunes on the Stylophone Beatbox, so naturally we had to give it a shot for our faithful readers. Essentially the Beatbox is a portable electronic musical instrument that activates when the stylus contacts the metallic pad. For us the functions were pretty straight-forward to use — there’s a sliding switch for the three sound packs, a loop tool with record and play controls, a volume dial, a loop playback speed dial and a tuning dial underneath. We dig the loop function, but sometimes the Beatbox struggled to reproduce multiple effects at any instance, which is probably why the famed Brett Domino got help in his video. Another issue was that we had to tap fairly hard to get a response, and while you can isolate the tapping noise by plugging in your headphones, your hands would still quickly grow tired from the rapid beats. Of course, you can always cheat by putting in a sample loop via the “MP3″ port, but where’s the fun in that? Enjoy our amateurish electronic beatboxing after the break — just promise you won’t laugh. Deal?

With Christmas around the corner, everybody is stepping up to try and make their deal the sweetest so that customers will purchase from them, and T-Mobile is certainly no difference. While there isn’t any confirmation just yet, but some leaked information shows a list of cell phone pricing supposedly from T-Mobile. Apparently these prices apply to all rate plays, so let’s wait for this to become official and we can enjoy the holidays in style!

Go figure, right? You get a relatively hot phone out onto more carriers, and just like that, sales increase. It ain’t rocket science, buster. As AT&T grins happily while enjoying a death grip on Apple’s cash cow here in the States, things are a lot more wide open for consumers across the pond. In both France and the UK, the iPhone has been given the all-clear to be sold on multiple carriers, and according to research from Bernstein, the “widening of the distribution has boosted Apple’s value market share to 32 percent in the latest quarter from 21 percent just three months earlier.” The notes also mention that Apple’s increase is coming at the expense of RIM, with over 600,000 iPhone handsets being sold during Q3 2009 in France alone. The point to all this madness? Oh, not much — just to tell Sir Jobs that he can count on quite a bit more dough should he decide to sell this elusive “iPhone” device on Verizon in the US of A.

We suspect this will be the final round of Black Friday ad leaks — you know, considering that Black Friday is but a few days away — but it seems as if the gadget world has saved the best (or at least the biggest) for last. As usual, we’re not spotting any major steals that’d be worth lining up a dozen hours in advance for, but the $78 Blu-ray player and $10 BD films from Wally World may be worth paying your neighbor to snag for you. Check ‘em all out below… if you dare.

While Google is doing quite well (to say the least) with its search business, it’s great to see that Google is still paying attention to details and willing to try out new stuff. Google’s vice president of search product and user experience has said that Google will soon begin testing a new permanent sidebar on its results page. It seems that users are happy with this direction that Google is taking, and it would certainly help us filter through the giant pile of data from Google.

T-Mobile (along with a number of overseas carriers) have had RIM’s BlackBerry Bold 9700 for some time now, and while we knew that the handset was shipping to those who AT&T considers “special” and “irreplaceable,” the rest of the collective masses have simply had to sit on the sidelines and wait. Thankfully, that whole bout with patience is over, as the Bold 9700 is now available to order directly from the operator’s website for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and your John Henry on a 2-year agreement. So, anyone forcing Santa to come early this year, or what?
[Thanks, Ry]
