Repeated rumors about using the iPhone as a modem (tethering) have surfaced over the past few months. MacBlogz claims that an insider gave them the reason: “Regardless of how many billions of dollars AT&T pours into their 3G network, it hasn’t been stable enough to handle all you iPhone users”.
To make a long story short: iPhone tethering is in the works, and it might appear at some point. It’s unbelievable that AT&T’s network can’t keep up with the traffic increase. Even if it was possible, most people will not use their iPhone as a modem at once - not evel close. (photo from cellfanatic)
