Panasonic DMR-BR630V Does VHS Too

Blu-ray discs and VHS tapes are poles apart in terms of their timeline as well as quality, but Panasonic has decided to bring both together in a single device - the DMR-BR630V. What makes the DMR-BR630V special is its ability to write to BD-Rs at 6x, the presence of both digital and analog tuners, a second generation MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 encoder chip, HDMI and analog connections, DVD recording capability, a 320GB hard drive, and the option to record onto VHS as well. Hmmm, who would want to take that nostalgic step back? After all, is your VCR player ready to rock and roll once you take it down from the attic and dusted layers of dust bunnies off? The Panasonic DMR-BR630V will be out in Japan this October for $1,450.
